Woodsong Reading

Greetings,

Hope your week's begun well ... I always have trouble with this Daylight Savings thing. I know it's only an hour, but I feel like I need about three hours of extra sleep to catch up!

Spent the weekend in Louisiana visiting relatives -- had a real nice time. Drove back on some country roads in Louisiana before hitting the interstate. Along the way, passed the most notorious speed trap in Louisiana.

Can't remember if the town's name is Woodville or Wordworth -- anyway, it's a tiny little town ... not really a town, because there's no town center or downtown, just an area of country and a handful of homes that've been organized into a municipality. Anyway, it straddles the path to a popular recreational park (Indian Creek).

You're driving along on country roads with speed limits varying between 55 and 45. All of a sudden, the speed limit drops to 25 for about a quarter of a mile. The speed limit sign announcing the change is partially hidden by some bushes and most people miss it; there's no change in scenery (it's still a country road) like businesses or houses to clue you the road conditions are different (because they're not different).

The Woodville (worth?) cop is almost always waiting nearby with his radar gun!

I remember before I moved to Texas from Louisiana that the legislature decided to crack down on small-town speed traps (I guess they caught one too many state representatives!). They listed them all and decided that Woodville was the worst of the state.

The Woodville mayor came and pleaded for them not to take action. The "town" derived virtually all of it's revenue from the speed trap. He promised they'd clean it up themselves.

I never heard what happened -- although the last time I went to Indian Creek, the local police car was still hidden and waiting at the speed trap!

How about a quick word from our sponsor, and then on to the reading!

We'll again pull two cards -- the first suggests something we should focus on for the week. The second suggests things we might consider in order to fully benefit from the attributes of the first card.

The cards are:

Eight of Cups

Ace of Pentacles

Seems like we've been seeing a lot of "change" cards lately -- and the Eight of Cups is another one.

This Eight has a slightly different spin -- it's not so much that it's suggesting a change, it's suggesting that some path or course of action you've been following has reached an end. Doesn't necessarily mean it's been completed, just that perhaps it's time to leave things as they are and look for something new.

Sometimes you've gained the most you're going to gain before you reach the end -- this might be a good time to consider and evaluate things you've been pursuing. Have some reached a plateau? Do some feel like the effort to see them through won't be worth what you'll gain?

The Ace of Pentacles follows next -- and it's a logical progression. Aces of any suit generally suggest something new -- and this fits in well with the message of our Eight.

The Ace of Pentacles tends to refer to fiscal or physical matters. Perhaps a new excercise routine? Eating healthier? Drinking more water and less xxx? Maybe reviewing your budget on a regular basis? Budget areas you can firm up? Stock purchase or savings plans? Does your work offer a 401K or some other sort of savings plan? Perhaps you might review your participation and see if you can improve things?

Bottom line is that these two cards suggest you find areas where you can make progress. Progress by cutting loose on tacks that might be holding you back and also by looking for new areas where you can improve.

And that's about it this time! I hope things go well for you through the weekend and look forward to talking to you again next week. I have been feeling like I am in a rut, and that I really feel like I need something new in my life to give me back the enthusiasm that I have lost. I do suffer from depression, but at the same time, I know that it is not what it is, it is something deep inside of me wanting to find my true life path. I have been told and not only that I truly belief that I need to do something totally different for what I am doing now, but at the same time I still need to stick to what I am doing for a career, and while doing that maybe I could do some study.
This morning I had a car accident, I am fine, but my car will be at the panel beaters for some time. I have been contemplating alternative ways to get to work, so I thought that I will try out riding my bike to work and see how that goes. So that where the Ace of Pentacles may come into the picture.
I enjoy the readings, and also the fact that you share a bit of your life to us, so it makes it not so impersonal. I really look forward to reading the woodsong tarot e-mails, and I start wondering when I will get them once the week has passed. Silly I know, but I get a real kick out of the readings and your adventures you have.
Thanks so much.
